VSL is one of the world’s leading metrology institutes. Within our renowned group focused on Electricity and Time Frequency we are looking to expand the team in the form of a:

Metrologist Electricity [32 tot 40 per week]

VSL focuses on three main pillars: management of national measurement standards on behalf of the Dutch government, conducting fundamental and applied research activities in international partnerships and carrying out specialist calibration and advisory assignments with our international customers. Your focus is on the substantive contribution to the specialist calibrations both for customers and for the national measurement standards. Also you play a role in research projects for the development of new standards. You like to use your expertise to establish this connection. More specifically this means:

• Translating the challenges of the customer to a fit for purpose technical metrological solution.
• Taking the responsibility for the practical implementation in the development of new standards.
• Performing specialist calibrations and consultancy work both in our own labs and onsite at the locations of our customers in the Netherlands and abroad.
• Willingness to travel on regular basis to customers worldwide.
• Contributing to the improvement of our systems and processes for more efficiency and quality.

This is you:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent experience with several years of experience in any of the fields of metrology of Electrical Engineering like Power Quality, High Voltage, Radio Frequency and Microwaves etc.
• Quality-oriented and accurate, accompanied by a healthy amount of pragmatism.
• Sensitive to the developments and needs in society and proactively communicating in all your contacts.
• You have a convincing personality and are able to work independently and take responsibility for (sub)projects.
• Fluent in English. Dutch is our official language and preferred, but not required. Adapting to Dutch working culture however is a must.
