News

We’re proud to announce VSL has secured 13 new projects in the 2024 calls from the European Partnership on Metrology (EPM), and will coordinate 4 of them. This represents a remarkable 75% success rate for VSL’s proposals.

These three-year projects will commence mid-2025 and contribute to solving key societal challenges, including the energy transition, environment, public health, digital transformation, and strengthening the European economy.

VSL’s EPM projects in 2025-2027 will focus on:

  • Smart electricity and gas networks;
  • Ammonia as energy carrier;
  • Cryogenic energy gases;
  • Hydrogen fueling stations;
  • Origin verification of biofuels;
  • Battery materials;
  • FLASH radiotherapy;
  • Quantitative MRI;
  • Nuclear medicine;
  • Flexible standards for nanotechnology in the semiconductor industry; and
  • Concentration measurements of nanoparticles.

The European Partnership on Metrology brings together the measurement science community and stakeholders to address global challenges. By supporting the European Green Deal and fostering collaborative research, the partnership aims to accelerate Europe’s transition towards a sustainable, climate-neutral, and digital future, while also bolstering the resilience, competitiveness, and economic growth of European industry.
