VSL organizes European Flow Measurement Workshop 2023

In March 2023, National Metrology Institute VSL will open the doors of its brand new European Center for Flow Measurement on the Rotterdam Maasvlakte. In honor of the opening, VSL is organizing a multi-day event: the European Flow Measurement Workshop.

The event will take place on 28, 29 and 30 March 2023 at the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam (Walrusweg 5) and at VSL in Delft (Thijsseweg 11). During three days, everything is dedicated to measurement and metrology. Our experts will discuss the measurement challenges for the flow sector in more detail. An important topic, especially now that stakeholders throughout the supply chain are positioning themselves to tackle the Energy Transition.

Knowledge and networking event

The event and workshop is open to anyone with an interest in flow measurement and metrology. From end user, manufacturer, supplier, researcher and/or other professionals: a lot of knowledge will be exchanged during the event, but will also have a high level of networking. There is plenty of time and opportunity to establish new relationships and/or strengthen existing relationships, learn from each other and hear about the latest developments in the industry.

The program

The program will contain the following activities:

  • The festive opening of the European Center for Flow Measurement (ECFM)
  • A tour of the new facilities:
    • 2 calibration facilities for liquid meters with water as test liquid
    • LNG calibration facility for cryogenic liquid meters
    • test site for LNG sampling systems
    • volume laboratory
    • Hydro Quantity Standard for H2 filling stations
  • The EFMWS The workshop with the theme ‘Measurement challenges in the energy transition’, with presentations about the challenges in practice when measuring and calibrating different and new flow media that arise or are needed during the Energy Transition.
  • The workshop matrix to update your metrological knowledge and the opportunity to highlight your services and products as a (possible) solution
  • A Network Dinner with a tour through the port of Rotterdam.
