Noninvasive medical breath analysis with sensitive IR spectroscopy

S.T. Persijn, A.M.H. van der Veen, "Noninvasive medical breath analysis with sensitive IR spectroscopy" Volume 6, 2013 - Issue 2 BioOptics World.

Abstract:
Technological advances have done away with the need to concentrate breath for analysis, and promise noninvasive measurement of biomarkers. Studies based on mid-infrared light and cavity ring-down spectrometry have already demonstrated viability for diagnosing cystic fibrosis, which today requires invasive procedures.
